Lynx’s Olivia Miles extends bonkers streak in blowout win vs. Fire

Olivia Miles continues to be on a roll throughout her rookie campaign, pulling off another feat following the Minnesota Lynx’s blowout win over the Portland Fire on Monday night.

Miles is going through the first year of her WNBA career with the Lynx. She is off to a strong start, helping Minnesota make a solid early case as title contenders.

Miles shined once again in Minnesota’s latest clash with Portland. In 23 minutes of action, she finished with a stat line of 12 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals. Her efforts, having shot 6-of-11 from the field, allowed her to record her sixth straight game of shooting 55% or better, per ESPN Insights.

“OLIVIA MILES IS BALLING OUT! She has scored at least 10 points while shooting 55% or better in 6 straight games, the second-longest streak by a guard in WNBA history ,” the post read.

How Olivia Miles, Lynx played against Fire

Olivia Miles continues to be beneficial and effective in the Lynx’s rotations. Her helping them dominate the Fire by 33 points in the 107-74 win was another example of that.

Shot accuracy, rebounds and turnovers made the difference in this matchup. The Lynx prevailed by making 55% of their shots, securing 40 rebounds and limiting their turnovers to just 13. It wasn’t the same for the Fire as they converted 41% of their chances, grabbed 27 rebounds and turned the ball over 22 times.

Seven players scored in double-digits for Minnesota in the win, including Miles. Natasha Howard led the team with 18 points, six rebounds, two steals, and one assist. Courtney Williams came next with 16 points and five rebounds, Nia Coffey had 15 points and five rebounds, while Kayla McBride put up 14 points and six rebounds. Meanwhile, Maya Caldwell and Anastasiia Olairi Kosu provided 11 points each.

Minnesota improved to an 11-3 record, boasting the top spot in the Western Conference standings. They are above the Las Vegas Aces and the Dallas Wings at the moment.

The Lynx will look forward to their next matchup, being on the road. They take on the Los Angeles Sparks on June 17 at 10 p.m. ET.
