As the Orlando Magic continue navigating the offseason ahead of free agency and the 2026 NBA Draft, guard Anthony Black’s younger brother, Beckham Black, has received a groundbreaking opportunity from ESPN.
ESPN insider Shams Charania announced Tuesday on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Beckham Black has become one of the first high school basketball players ever to sign a merchandising deal with ESPN through its SC NEXT platform.
“For the first time ever, @SCNEXT and ESPN are signing two high school basketball players to merchandising deals: the #1 girls player on the SC NEXT 100, Kaleena Smith, and the #2 boys player on the SC NEXT 100, Beckham Black,” Charania wrote.
“Black is the younger brother of Orlando Magic guard Anthony Black.”
The agreement marks a significant milestone for ESPN’s high school basketball coverage and highlights Beckham Black’s rapidly growing profile as one of the nation’s top prospects.

ESPN deal marks latest milestone in Beckham Black’s rise
According to ESPN’s SC NEXT 100 rankings for the Class of 2027, Beckham Black is currently ranked No. 2 nationally among boys prospects, trailing only Marcus Spears Jr. His rise has attracted attention from some of college basketball’s premier programs.
Black already holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgetown, Kentucky, and USC despite still having multiple years remaining before college enrollment.
The talented guard also delivered an impressive junior campaign during the 2025-26 season. According to MaxPreps, Black averaged 16.4 points, 9.6 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game across 48 contests while playing 23.6 minutes per game.
His all-around production and playmaking ability have drawn comparisons to his older brother, who enjoyed a breakout third season with the Magic. Anthony Black averaged 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per game while helping Orlando reach the playoffs during the 2025-26 campaign.
While Anthony Black continues establishing himself at the NBA level, Beckham Black is quickly building a national reputation of his own. The historic merchandising agreement with ESPN represents another major step in the young guard’s emergence as one of the most recognizable high school basketball players in the country.
