In April 2026, Brunson was asked for his bodega order by Kobe Cash. He likes a bacon, egg, and cheese with a twist. He also adds hashbrowns and spicy mayo to his sandwiches.
The post went viral, and now, Brunson’s order has become the unofficial sandwich of the city. The New York Post reports that several bodegas and delis are now offering the “Brunson egg and cheese.” Some are even offering the sandwich on Knicks-colored blue and orange bagels.

Over his first four years in New York, Brunson has endeared himself to Knicks fans. Winning the franchise’s first championship in 53 years has brought his popularity to a new level.
He was named Finals MVP for his efforts against the San Antonio Spurs. Brunson averaged 32.6 points per game in the five-game series, and he was also integral in all of the team’s comebacks.
Brunson is the Knicks’ captain. During the regular season, he averaged 26 points per game, the 10th most in the NBA, and 6.8 assists per game.
The Knicks beat the Spurs in five games to win the championship. They won the first two games, which were played on the road, before the series came to New York. The Knicks then lost Game 3 in front of a raucous crowd at Madison Square Garden.
