After playing a role in the New York Knicks’ recent championship win, WWE’s “Very Nice, Very Evil” Superstar Danhausen has made a “one-day contract” request ahead of his retirement from basketball.
He took to X, formerly Twitter, to make his request to the team. After one year of being prevalent during the NBA playoffs, it sounds like he wants out.
“Danhausen is requesting a one-day contract with The KNICKSHAUSEN so he may retire from basketball’s as a champion of the world,” he wrote.
Danhausen’s role in the Knicks’ championship win

While not a player, Danhausen might’ve played a powerful role in the Knicks’ postseason success. He “uncursed” the team after they went down 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks in the first round of the playoffs.
New York then went on a tear, winning 13 games in a row. They swept the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers on their way to the NBA Finals.
Their win streak eventually came to an end in the NBA Finals. They lost Game 3 of the series in New York City in front of a raucous Madison Square Garden home crowd. However, they rebounded in the following game. They came back from being down by as much as 29 points in the game.
It was a big moment for New York and Danhausen alike. However, it appears it will only be a one-off. Hopefully, for the sake of Knicks fans, he keeps the Knicks “uncursed” heading into the 2026-27 season.
Part of Danhausen’s WWE gimmick is that he “curses” other Superstars. Currently, he is in a storyline involving Kit Wilson and The Miz. Other WWE Superstars also approach him to try to convince him to “curse” their opponents. However, if they hope to have him do so, they had better save up their hard-earned human monies.
