The 2026 NBA Draft is one of the most stacked draft classes in recent memory. The top four, in particular, is loaded with what looks like future megastars. The Utah Jazz already have an exciting core going forward, particularly with Jaren Jackson Jr. returning to health after spending most of his time post-trade with the Jazz on the sideline. The most intriguing part about Utah’s future is that they own the number two overall pick, though.
AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer are all in the mix for number two, and the Jazz are reportedly torn deciding who they will pick of that trio, according to the Athletic’s Tony Jones.
Dybantsa, a wing from BYU, is the consensus number one overall pick and ClutchPoints’ projection to go first overall in the 3.5 version of the mock draft. Considering he is familiar with the state of Utah, the Jazz would surely love to bring him on board. His athletic abilities are even more intriguing than that, but as of now, it seems like he will go first overall to the Washington Wizards.
Peterson also thinks that he will go first overall, evidenced by the fact that he canceled his workout with the Jazz. The team is not scared off by that decision. In fact, they dealt with Ace Bailey trying to make his way elsewhere last year, and now he is a vital part of their core. Peterson can score from any level on the floor.
Boozer is also in the running. He is a proven winner fresh off becoming just the fifth freshman ever to win the College Player of the Year title. His game is a little bit old school, and some view him as a tweener, but Boozer has done nothing but produce his entire career. Plus, Boozer’s dad, former Jazz player Carlos Boozer, is a part of Utah’s front office. He also isn’t the cleanest fit on a team that already has a number of frontcourt players.
The first round of the draft will be held on June 23, so Utah will need to make a decision sooner rather than later.
