Knicks’ Tyler Kolek links up with IShowSpeed at World Cup

Tyler Kolek is on the top of the world right now after being a part of the New York Knicks team that just recently climbed the mountaintop of the NBA. The Knicks are NBA champions once again after 53 years, and Kolek, despite not playing a role for the team in the playoffs, remains a huge part of the squad, no less.

Kolek, who is still fresh off celebrating the Knicks’ title win, is now off to exploring other sporting interests. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup in full gear, Kolek was in attendance for France’s group stage fixture against Senegal at East Rutherford in New Jersey. In fact, the Knicks guard made an appearance on IShowSpeed’s livestream of the France-Senegal match, linking up in an incredible crossover.

The exchange between Kolek and Speed was hilarious. The Knicks guard was donning a Senegal kit due to his shoe deal with Puma, which prompted Speed to ask whether or not he was rooting for Senegal as well.

Speed is proud of his African roots, as evidenced by his recent tour of the continent, so he was also loudly cheering for the underdog in their clash against the powerhouse France.

In the end, Speed and the Knicks guard agreed that Senegal was going to come out on top, with Kolek predicting that France was going to be beaten 3-1.

Kolek’s score prediction ended up being correct, but it was France that took the victory in their opening group stage match thanks to two Kylian Mbappe goals and another one from Bradley Barcola. Senegal pulled one back in injury time, but that goal came just too little too late.

Speed became famous in the footballing world for his unabashed love for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is yet to suit up in this year’s World Cup what with Portugal yet to begin their journey in this year’s competition. He’ll certainly be having a blast tomorrow once Ronaldo and Portugal kick things off in the group stage with a match against the Democratic Republic of Congo at 1 PM E.T.
