Following a tense World Cup selection process, fans found Neymar breaking down into tears after making the World Cup squad. Unfortunately, just days after receiving his spot on the team, Neymar suffered a calf injury that sidelined him from Santos’ matches as well as Brazil’s World Cup first team. However, a major update has now emerged regarding his place in the squad.
Brazil began their World Cup campaign with a disappointing 1- 1 draw against Morocco. Now looking forward to avenging that draw and bouncing back, Carlo Ancelotti and Brazil might’ve launched their hidden ace. Neymar was found training with the national team in hopes of wearing his iconic number 10 jersey. Despite the exciting injury return update, fans were left worried seeing the former PSG star’s condition.
Throughout the few training videos now going viral, Neymar’s style and performance were perceived as slow and choppy by fans and critics on the internet. Many were doubtful about his form when compared to the rest of the Brazil team.
“D**n 1 tackle on Neymar and he done,” wrote one fan. While another person commented, “Poor Neymar, it seems like he lives limping and doing everything in slow motion.
He won’t even catch the rhythm (if he does) before the Cup is over—it’s his dream, but no way he’s in any shape for it.”
Despite the worries and negativity, there were several fans of Neymar who supported his comeback journey. “This will be awesome. I’m sick of defensive plays,” wrote one fan. “He still has a lot to offer,” another fan commented.
Brazil is next set to play Haiti on Jun. 19, 2026, where Neymar is reportedly a favorite to start, although nothing confirmed has been shared.
A CBF divulgou imagens do primeiro treino de Neymar em campo desde que o atacante se juntou à Seleção Brasileira para a Copa de 2026.
