Rangers forward Vincent Trocheck makes intriguing agent move as trade speculation grows

It was a disaster of a season for the New York Rangers. During the season, they traded away Artemi Panarin and nearly moved other players. One of those players, Vincent Trocheck, is speculated to be moved this offseason.

Now, Trocheck is making an off-ice move on Wednesday, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.

“Sources say Vincent Trochek has hired Pat Brisson and CAA to represent him moving forward. Trochek was a target of trade speculation heading into the Deadline, so this change will fuel more of that in the days ahead. Lots of teams interested,” Dreger posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Trochek has been represented by Matthew Oates of O2K Sports Management. Oates does not represent a lot of high-power contracts currently. Outside of Trocheck, Oates represents Ryan Hartman of the Minnesota Wild, Nic Dowd of the Vegas Golden Knights, Jack Devine of the Florida Panthers, and Zach Dean of the St. Louis Blues. That is connections to just four other teams. He also has connections via three players who are set to be free agents, bringing his total to seven other teams.

Meanwhile, his new agent, Pat Brisson of CAA, has a laundry list of top-quality clients. This includes Jason Robertson of the Dallas Stars, Jack Eichel of the Vegas Golden Knights, and Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche. He has players with active contracts on 26 of the 32 NHL teams.

Trocheck has a modified no-trade clause, which allows him to have a ten-team no-trade list. With multiple teams interested in Trocheck, having an agent with more connections could aid the forward in getting to the team he wants to be with.
