England is on the board! Superstar striker and goal scorer Harry Kane drilled a penalty kick in the 12th minute to take a 1-0 lead over Croatia.
The entire sequence was very strange. Croatian captain Luka Modric fouled an English player in the goal box, and the head official pointed to the pitch. It was time for Kane to shine. However, he actually missed his first opportunity. Kane and the English caught a massive break as a Croatian player moved early and was in an illegal position. This allowed Kane to get a redo, and of course, he would not miss.
