Traditionally, championship-winning teams will visit the White House in celebration of their accomplishment, but New York Knicks guard Jose Alvarado has weighed in on his squad’s potential visit.
It sounds like he will go with the flow, as he told TMZ. He will follow the lead of his teammates, saying, “If there’s a chance, I’m going wherever my teammate goes,” about a potential White House visit.

President Donald Trump is a fan of the Knicks. He attended the team’s Game 3 loss in the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. So, more than likely, he will invite the team to the White House.
Will the Knicks visit the White House after winning a championship?

It remains unknown if the Knicks will go to the White House after their championship win. However, it sounds like it will be a team decision.
Before any White House visit, though, the team will celebrate in New York City on Thursday, June 18. The whole city will be celebrating the team’s accomplishment.
The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games to win the NBA Finals. This flipped the switch after the Knicks lost their last NBA Finals series in 1999, which was also in five games.
New York opened the series hot, winning the first two games in San Antonio. After losing Game 3, the team roared back from being down by 29 points in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 lead. They then put the series away in Game 5, winning by four points.
While Alvarado only averaged 4.2 points per game, he was crucial in the team’s Game 3 comeback. He scored eight points in 16 minutes, making 75% of his shots. Alvarado also had two rebounds and three assists in the comeback win.
Alvarado was traded to the Knicks during the 2025-26 season by the New Orleans Pelicans. He went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft after playing college basketball at Georgia Tech.
