The Philadelphia Phillies took a tough loss to the Miami Marlins, and Trea Turner may have gotten the worst end of it. During the game, Turner was trying to catch the ball, but instead of it landing in his glove, it hit him right in the crotch.

That’s not a place anybody wants to get hit, but it looks like Turner was fine after the hit.
It hasn’t been the best season for Turner as he’s currently in a slump, but interim manager Don Mattingly recently spoke highly of the shortstop.
“I want to show confidence (in him) because I feel confident,” Mattingly said via NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I wouldn’t say the things I say if I didn’t feel confident that Trea was going to find it and be swinging more consistently and better as we go through the season. Like when you do certain things to guys, it basically tells them you don’t believe in them, and that’s where I’m not going.”
The good news is that everybody around supports him, and they believe that he will find his way back into the form that everyone knows he can. Though the Phillies have struggled on offense as a whole, they’re not putting it on Turner.
“He’s not the only reason when things like that happen,” Mattingly said. “Trea’s a big piece of what we’re going to be, and if we’re really successful, we’re going to need Trea. So, I’m not giving up on Trea. I’m not moving him right now. That’s just the way I feel about it.”
