The New York Knicks winning the 2026 NBA Championship comes with a lot of expectations and commitments. Unfortunately for the players, one of those commitments might be having to visit the White House at some point next season.
On Wednesday, Knicks owner James Dolan joined “The Carton Show” on WFAN 660, where he talked about a number of topics stemming from the Knicks championship run.
At one point, Dolan was asked about visiting Donald Trump at the White House now that his team are champion. His response is one that likely won’t be very popular with some of the players on the Knicks.
“As a matter of fact, thank you for asking me that. We just did receive an invitation from the White House, which we accepted,” Dolan said of Trump’s invitation. “We still have to figure out the details, et cetera, but you know, yes, of course. I mean, you know, look, I invited the president to come down for the game, right? He is a friend. I’ve known him for 30, for 30 years. And I’m very proud to bring the team to the White House.
“First time ever [for a president] for any NBA Finals. That’s right. And then you guys get to go back and be celebrated for the entire country to see at the White House at some future date.”

It remains to be seen whether the rest of the players or staff feel the same way Dolan does. Just prior to Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Spurs and Knicks in which Trump was attending, an old tweet of Josh Hart’s resurfaced on social media where he said, “YESSIR!!!! GET TRUMP’S DUMBA** OUT THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!”
