Mikal Bridges is having the time of his life after helping the New York Knicks win the NBA Finals and end their 53-year title drought. Get drunk before lunch and flex on Instagram Live? Check. Guest on Jimmy Fallon’s late-night show? Check. Watch the World Cup at MetLife Stadium? Check.
But apparently, Bridges is not yet done with his side quests.
A day before the Knicks’ much-anticipated championship parade on Thursday, the 29-year-old forward surprised fans at the NBA Store by working as a cashier.
Bridges was dialed in, handling all the merchandise with ease despite the frenzy. He also enjoyed interacting with fans.
“It was a great time up there. Just closing out, getting guys’ and people’s orders right. The staff up there did a great job. They taught me. I was just trying to be a quick learner and lock in for all the fans,” said Bridges.
Fans on X saluted Bridges for his endless energy.
“Real iron man, this guy. Can’t sit still,” said @MChicken81.
“Imagine getting rung up by Mikal Bridges. I’d forget my PIN,” added @thisisdonbaba.
“The all-around humility and grace of these guys has me so proud,” wrote @xjamesflippin.
“Mikal looks like he’d scan my stuff then drop 40 on my team after clocking out,” commented @Tessafuentes_pv.
“Mikal Bridges is for the people,” posted @ArchiveRedline.
“This is amazing marketing, LMAO. Keep these guys close to the fans,” suggested @gabrielabiramia.
The former Villanova standout has endeared himself to New York since being acquired by the Knicks last season.
The NBA Store might want to hire Bridges. After all, he does not miss a workday.
