NBA rumors: Insider nukes idea of Jaylen Brown going to Clippers in Giannis Antetokounmpo trade

How many trade proposals have you read about Giannis Antetokounmpo in recent weeks? Four? Fourteen? Sixty million?

The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly entertaining every offer for Antetokounmpo, with the Miami Heat, the Boston Celtics, the Orlando Magic, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Portland Trail Blazers being linked to the two-time MVP.

A scenario being floated is a three-team deal involving the Bucks, the Celtics, and the Los Angeles Clippers, with Antetokounmpo going to Boston, Jaylen Brown going to Los Angeles, and Milwaukee receiving the Clippers’ No. 5 pick in next week’s NBA Draft.

NBA insider Marc Stein, however, refuted the rumor.

“As I discussed on my weekly Bleacher Report video stream Tuesday, I’ve been told emphatically that a three-team trade concept making the social media rounds in which the Clippers join a three-team Giannis construction with the Bucks and the Celtics and take on Brown while surrendering the No. 5 overall pick is not a real conversation,” wrote Stein on his Substack.

While it sounds logical, it does not work financially, as the Clippers will need to create plenty of room to absorb Brown’s $53.1 million salary.

Also, the 29-year-old wingman, who had an MVP-type campaign, has intimated that he wants to stay with the Celtics despite his purported frustrations with the organization.

It has been reported, however, that the Clippers are indeed open to giving up their No. 5 pick in exchange for an established star, especially with Kawhi Leonard possibly getting shipped.

As for Antetokounmpo, he has stayed mum amid the ceaseless chatter about his future. In the meantime, we’ll probably read 60 million more trade proposals for the do-it-all forward.
