Young Knicks superfan crowned winner of $5K Jalen Brunson lookalike contest

After last year’s successful Jalen Brunson lookalike contest, another one was held this year to celebrate the New York Knicks’ 2026 NBA Finals MVP with a cash prize of $5,000. Flyers were distributed around New York City to promote the contest, with a first-place prize of $5000, as well as several other prizes.

The lookalike contest has now officially ended, and a young Knicks superfan has emerged as the winner. An adorable young fan was declared the winner of the Jalen Brunson lookalike contest. Not only did the young fan receive a hefty sum of $5000, but he was also treated to a FaceTime with Brunson himself.

The contest, hosted by betting platform Polymarket and content creator Jake Epstein, saw numerous Brunson lookalikes enter. Epstein is also famous for his livestream of himself repeating the name Jalen Brunson 100,000 times outside Madison Square Garden before Game 3. Despite the dozens of Brunson lookalikes, the crowd decided on Francisco, 5, as the ultimate winner of the contest.

Brunson FaceTimed the young Knicks fan wearing a No. 11 jersey to say “Sup’ man, how you doing? You good?” but the young fan was left star-struck to even reply to the NBA Championships final MVP. Brunson was named the finals MVP after leading the Knicks to their first championship in nearly 53 years with a legendary 45-point performance against the San Antonio Spurs.

His finals performance was even recognized by Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, who crowned him the “King of New York” on their social media. “Jalen Brunson, First of His Name, Breaker of Double Teams, King of New York, Most Valuable Player,” wrote Game of Thrones’ social media profile.
