Before her teammate Sophie Cunningham’s USA Sports debut, Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark offered her some advice, which involves being “quieter.”
USA Today posted a video of Cunningham’s Fever teammates giving advice before her debut for the network. While everyone, including Clark, believed in her, the former 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year had one suggestion.
“[I] hate giving her credit, but she’ll be amazing,” Clark said, before giving her critique. “You might have to tell her to be a little more quiet, more than anything.”
Fever star Sophie Cunningham’s USA Sports debut

During the 2026 offseason and amid the WNBA CBA negotiations and free agency, Cunningham took on another job with USA Sports in April. She joined the network as a contributor.
On Wednesday, June 17, she made her broadcasting debut for USA Sports. The network had a doubleheader on June 17, with the New York Liberty visiting the Chicago Sky before the Las Vegas Aces played the Phoenix Mercury, her former team.
Cunningham and the Fever are hot on a four-game win streak. They are now in third place in the Eastern Conference Division with a 9-5 record.
Currently, Cunningham is having one of the best seasons of her career. She is averaging 10.1 points per game, which is more than a point more than last year, and 2.7 rebounds per game. She has played in 13 games, starting three of them, after playing in 30 games (starting 13 of them) in 2025.
This is her second year with the Fever. She was traded to Indiana by the Mercury before the 2025 season as part of a four-team trade.
During her first year with the Fever, Cunningham averaged 8.6 points per game. She had to step up in place of other injured stars like Caitlin Clark. However, she tore his MCL during the Fever’s game against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2025.
