Mariska Hargitay’s son has Taylor Swift-style shirt at Knicks’ NBA Finals parade

The New York Knicks’ championship parade featured plenty of memorable moments Thursday, including a creative fashion statement from the son of actress Mariska Hargitay.

Hargitay, best known for her role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, attended the celebration after the Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs in five games to win their first NBA championship since 1973. Accompanying her was her son, who wore a customized Knicks-themed shirt inspired by a trend popularized during the NBA Finals.

The New York Post’s Page Six shared a photo of the pair on X, formerly known as Twitter, highlighting the shirt’s design.

“Mariska Hargitay’s son reps his mom at the Knicks parade with a ‘Marknickska’ shirt.”

The shirt appeared to follow the same naming convention featured by singer Taylor Swift and members of the band Haim during New York’s playoff run.

Swift attended the Knicks’ historic Game 4 comeback victory over the Spurs earlier in the Finals while wearing a “Stevie Knicks” shirt, a play on the name of legendary singer Stevie Nicks.

The Haim sisters also embraced the trend while sitting courtside alongside Swift. Danielle Haim wore a “Knickolas Cage” shirt, inspired by actor Nicolas Cage. Alana Haim sported a “Knickelback” shirt, referencing the Canadian rock band Nickelback, while Este Haim wore a “Knicole Kidman” shirt inspired by actress Nicole Kidman.

The shirts quickly gained popularity among Knicks fans throughout the Finals and became a recurring theme during the team’s championship run.

Hargitay’s son’s “Marknickska” version added another entry to the growing collection of celebrity-inspired Knicks apparel as thousands of fans packed the streets of Manhattan to celebrate the franchise’s long-awaited title.

The parade marked the culmination of a historic season for New York, which ended its 53-year championship drought by defeating Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs in five games.
